Head to Morley Market if you want to see one of the most revolutionary businesses known to man. Sadlers of Morley Market, a butcher that has been around for 90 years, sells meat you can eat. Who would have thought of such an incredible business venture?
A yellow and black sign, reminiscent of a Netto carrier bag, adorns a wall near the front entrance of Morley Market. The sign informs passers-by that Sadlers of Morley Market have been in business for four generations and 90 years, which is impressive in its own right. However, adding, “OUR MEAT IS MEAT YOU CAN EAT!” blew our minds and those of some Morley residents.
“I can’t believe nobody has thought of this before,” said one bemused Morleian. “Until I saw this sign, I used to buy half a dozen pork chops from another butcher every week and just sling them in the bin when I got home.”
Another market-goer, James Daniels, thanked Sadlers for thinking outside the box.
“My neighbour often throws beef joints and whole chickens over our garden fence whenever they have been to their favourite butcher. This may stop, and I won’t have rotting meat all over my lawn if they start shopping at Sadler’s.
More World Firsts From Sadler’s Butcher
You may need to sit down if the excitement of discovering you can eat meat knocked you for six because this Morley butcher has created two more world firsts. According to the butcher’s page on the Morley Market website, you can buy potter beef from this butcher. Similar to potted beef, potter beef contains at least 29% wizard.
Furthermore, you can also purchase polongy, which isn’t an actual thing in any language. You can, however, make 43 English words from it on a Scrabble board.
Get down to Morley market and see for yourself the weirdly vacuum-packed meats you can eat alongside never-before-seen wizard and scrabble produce. You’ll also find stalls selling drinks you can drink, a book shop where they have books with words you can read and a vape shop with vaping products you can smoke. There’s nothing like the innovation of Morley folk; long may it continue.
