Sesame Street Heads to Netflix Because President Trump Has Learned To Count

Long-running children’s television show Sesame Street is heading to Netflix after President Donald Trump pulled funding for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), a free-to-air channel in the United States. Sources close to the White House informed The Yorkshire Tribune that President Trump scrapped PBS funding because he has finally learned how to count.

Sesame Street was first released on PBS on November 9, 1970, and has been ever-present since. The show was initially given a six-month run to determine whether it was effective and popular. Sesame Street was an instant hit and became a global sensation almost overnight.  Characters such as Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Kermit the Frog, and Count von Count educated and entertained children. The 45th President of the United States found the latter most useful.

President Trump Learned to Count Via Sesame Street

President Trump invented counting

The Wotsit-coloured megalomaniac Donald Trump was parodied on Sesame Street during the 2,399th episode in 1988. Ronald Grump, a rich Grouch, approached Oscar about building his new “Grump Tower” on Oscar’s property. The Ronald Grump character appeared again in the 1994 TV special Stars and Street Forever.

Little did anyone know back then that the would-be President of the United States regularly tuned into Sesame Street while learning to count. Thirty-seven years after being parodied by the hit show, President Trump has finally learned to count.

“My not being able to count is fake news,” President Trump claimed during a national television broadcast, “In fact, I’ve always been a great counter, the best counter. You may not know this, but I invented counting.”

The Yorkshire Tribune asked the White House press office why President Trump had pulled funding for PBS. They declined to reply. We have since learned that Count von Count, a Romanian national, has been deported from the United States.

PBS Continues to Air New Episodes

Despite Sesame Street heading to the streaming giant Netflix, new episodes will continue airing on PBS. It is believed that the Sesame Workshop, the non-profit company behind the TV show, struck a deal with Netflix to compensate for the funding shortfall caused by Jeffrey Epstein’s best mate pulling the plug.
