Netflix Offers Jake Paul $50 Million to Fight Morgan Freeman

The Yorkshire Tribune can reveal that Netflix’s first foray into streaming live sporting events won’t be its last. Our sources have reliably informed us that Netflix has offered YouTube sensation Jake Paul a staggering $50 million purse to fight octogenarian actor Morgan Freeman.

The American streaming giant was delighted at the viewing figures for its buffering-strewn stream of Paul’s rigged fight against “Iron” Mike Tyson. So much so that the company’s management team has been working around the clock to get a new fight confirmed.

Former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott was Netflix’s first choice, but the former MP for Kingston upon Hull East died on November 20 after seeing Jaguar’s “Copy Nobody” rebranding advertisement. Eighty-seven-year-old Freeman was next on Netflix’s shortlist; he is said to be keen to step into the ring to face Paul.

Freeman Keen on Paul Fight

Paul embarked on a professional boxing career in January 2020. His record of 11 wins and one defeat seems impressive until you look at the bums he’s fought. All of Paul’s opponents were either much older than him or former fighters who had long since retired. A split decision loss to Tommy Fury is the only blot on Paul’s copybook. The fact Paul lost to someone who pretends to be a professional boxer speaks for itself.

On November 15, Paul defeated Tyson via unanimous decision. Bear in mind that Tyson is Paul’s senior by 31 years, hadn’t fought professionally since losing to Kevin McBride in June 2005, and cameras caught him pulling out of potentially heavy punches several times during their clash.

Although Freeman has no boxing experience, he played a former boxer in Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby in 2004; Paul was seven when the Oscar-winning film was released. Known for his distinctive voice, Freeman is a Hollywood legend. With an estimated net worth of $250 million, Freeman doesn’t need the money, so why is he keen to step into the ring against Paul?

“I grew up in Mississippi during an era when it was made abundantly clear that African Americans were not welcome. Although I mostly avoided conflict, there were times when I had to put my fists to work to defend my honour and dignity and that of my family. This young punk [Paul] shouts his mouth off to anyone within earshot. I’d love nothing more than to smash his face in and put him on his arse.”

The Yorkshire Tribune reached out to Paul for his comments on the potential blockbuster bout against Freeman. Paul was busy wanking himself off in front of a mirror and couldn’t break off, so one of his entourage spoke on his behalf.

“Everyone knows that Jake Paul is a phenomenal boxer. You only have to look at the quality of opponents he’s left in his wake. Jake won’t shy away from anyone unless they know how to box and are of a similar age to him. This motherfucker Morgan Freeman is welcome to try taking our man’s crown. So what if he played God, Jake will send him to hell. Now go by a bottle of Prime.”

The Yorkshire Tribune understands the fight has been pencilled in for April 1, 2025, with the Paycor Stadium, home of the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals in Paul’s home state of Ohio, touted as a possible venue. Managers from both camps are working hard behind the scenes to iron out the rules and the purse split.

Paul’s team requests Freeman to fight with one arm behind his back for the first three rounds, but he is not permitted to strike Paul’s face at any point. Freeman has countered this by asking for eight bags of Werther’s Originals in his locker room and a nice blanket to put over his knee between rounds.
